Luke Hockaday

I’m Luke Hockaday, the Director of Agent Relations. I’m typically the first person you’ll talk to when you get in touch with us here at New Horizons.

The heart of my position is helping agents solve problems. I love helping an agent close a deal if they have a difficult case and tough underwriting issues. Keep in mind that I’m an agent myself, so I understand how hard it is and can relate to your everyday issues.

You’ll likely hear from me when a new product hits the streets or when we’re simply thankful for all the hard work you do out in the field. The best part of my job is meeting new agents and building relationships. I couldn't see myself doing anything else. I may be one of the only people who truly looks forward to Mondays so that I can get into the office and help people!

As I mentioned, I’m a personal agent, and I started in 2011 when I graduated with a business degree from Millikin. In 2016, I joined the New Horizons team. I also head up our Medicare Allies national division, which is our acquisitions side and is where we go direct-to-consumer. We only assist areas of the country where we do not have any current agents.

I was born and raised right here in central Illinois. I have a strong history of sports, from winning a state championship in football my senior year of high school to playing at Millikin University for 2 years. 

I grew up in an insurance family, with my dad being John who started with his partner, Jeff, in 1981. This is the only thing I’ve ever done. I know football, food, and senior insurance and that's about it.

I enjoy hanging out with my wife, Tessa, and playing with my kids, Hazel and Houston. I love to grill and cook, travel, and watch sports.
