Hurricane Ian Customer Service Notices & Office Closures

Here's information on carriers that are either closed or are experiencing longer hold times due to Hurricane Ian. Business as usual should resume on Monday, October 3, 2022.

Sentinel Security Life

Due to Hurricane Ian, Sentinel Security Life Insurance Company’s Third-Party Administrator has temporarily closed their Clearwater, FL office beginning Tuesday at 2 pm EST, and normal business hours are expected to resume Monday, October 3rd, 2022.

Beginning Tuesday, September 27 at 2 pm EST, the Final Expense point-of-sale underwriting phone services and annuity phone services will be working at limited capacity. While Sentinel is working to diligently handle all incoming calls as efficiently as possible, you may experience longer than usual wait times. Additionally, we encourage you to visit the Agent Portal for online services.

Americo

Americo's Medicare Supplement Call Center has closed early as of Wednesday, September 28 to prepare for the impending Hurricane Ian. They will be closed Thursday, September 29th as well. You can continue to write paper applications or utilize the eApplication during these two days. However, Americo will be unable to answer calls for underwriting questions. They expect to reopen for regular business hours on Friday, September 30th.
