Mutual of Omaha Dental Insurance Plans

Mutual of Omaha offers two plan options:

  2. Mutual Dental Protection℠ Insurance Policy

The Preferred plan offers slightly more coverage, with a calendar year benefit of $1,500, while the protection plan offers a calendar year benefit of $1,000. For both plans, preventive services – two cleanings per year and X-rays – are 100% covered.

Basic services like fillings, extractions, and emergency treatment are covered at 80% for the preferred plan and 50% for the protection plan. Both plans offer 50% coverage for major services like crowns, dentures, bridges, root canals, and periodontics.

With Mutual of Omaha, you also have the option to add a vision benefit to your dental policy. The vision benefit reimburses you for one eye exam per year (up to $50), and up to $150 every two years for glasses or contacts.

Senior consumers search for dental insurance more than you might think – in fact, for one our local agencies, it's one of the top online lead generators. Whether you think dental insurance is a waste of your time or not, it’s what people are searching for. And you know the saying… give the people what they want!

The fact of the matter is that there’s a huge need for it in the senior market. Why?

  • Medicare doesn’t cover most dental services
  • About 74 million Americans don’t have dental coverage (about 23% of the entire population)
  • 76% of seniors say they plan to visit the dentist within the next year

So… people need it, and they can’t pay for it.

That explains why dental insurance is one of the most popular ancillary product sales for Medicare-eligible clients.
