My name is Taylor Builta, and I work in Agent Services: Life & Annuities. As you can tell, my focus is on helping our staff members and our agents in the life and annuity department. I interact with agents about different issues they are encountering, quotes they need ran, supplies they need ordered, or any questions they may have.
I also help man the chats on our website, so if you ever have any questions, I may be the one to help you! The values that drive me are respect, kindness, and caring for others, and every day, I strive to convey those values to the agents I'm helping.
I first interned with Sams/Hockaday the entirety of my senior year of college where I started learning about the senior market. I interacted with clients every day to help them with their needs and to schedule appointments. I also assisted the agents themselves with Medicare Supplement quotes, PDPs, and inputting information into the system.
Overall, I did whatever I possibly could to meet the needs of agents and consumers. Before Sams/Hockaday, I was a Human Resources Intern at Carle Foundation Hospital where I analyzed data, developed marketing material, and assisted in the hiring process of individuals. I worked with both the talent acquisition and talent development teams.
I love the energy here in the New Horizons office – all of the individuals here are very energetic, and yet we enjoy a relaxed work environment. We all are a team that can succeed as one.
I grew up in Farmer City, IL where my family lived on a beef cattle farm. Growing up, I was very involved in 4H/FFA, playing softball/volleyball, and showing cattle. I recently graduated from Millikin University where I obtained my degree in Business Management. While at Millikin, I participated in Tri Delta Sorority and the My College Buddy program. Fun fact: my favorite food growing up was chicken nuggets!
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my parents, 2 older brothers, and the rest of our family. I love making memories with my friends, kayaking, traveling, and going to concerts.
