New Med Supp Carrier: Announcing Everest

New Med Supp Carrier: Announcing Everest

This week, we’re announcing a new Medicare Supplement carrier that’s come on board here at New Horizons – Everest.

Everest has been in the insurance business since 1973, and they’re well-known as an international insurance and re-insurance carrier.

Just last year, they wrote approximately $6 billion of premium, and they processed nearly 3.9 million claims. Everest’s headquarters are in Liberty Corner, New Jersey. The Med Supp management office is located in Tampa, and the administrative office is located in Clearwater, FL.

We’re really excited to bring Everest on board, and we’ve compiled some of the things that set Everest apart from the competition.

1. Administered by IAS

First, Everest is administered by Insurance Administration Solutions (IAS). We’ve worked with IAS for a number of years, and they’ve often been our go-to carrier. We’re very familiar and comfortable with their admin, and that just makes this new carrier a natural addition for all of us.

2. Friendlier Health Questions

Second, their underwriting is friendlier, making it easier for us all to place more cases and help more seniors.

3. Household Discount

For most states, there is a 7% Household Discount where the qualifying adult doesn’t need to have an Everest Medicare Supplement policy. You only need to reside in the same home.

4. Comp With GI Business

The GI business does have comp – it’s not full comp, but when most carriers pay you practically nothing, some comp is better than nothing.

5. A+ Rated

Everest’s financial strength is rated A+ (Superior) with A.M. Best, which is the 2nd highest rating, and they’re rated A+ from S&P.

The following states offer Everest’s Medicare Supplement:

  • Alabama
  • Arizona
  • Colorado
